Today, saffron is a distinctive spice used in a variety of cuisines throughout the world to provide an appealing flavor and scent to a variety of meals. However, did you know that saffron offers many health benefits and may be used as a natural cure as well? Saffron’s therapeutic benefits have been known in regions such as Iran for thousands of years, with evidence going back to ancient Persia.

Saffron is gaining popularity as a natural treatment as a result of contemporary technology and medicine. For instance, saffron is well-known for its high antioxidant, mood-boosting qualities, metabolic advantages, and immune-boosting capabilities. Following are the types of saffron

Bunch or Dasteh Saffron

Bunched Saffron is the most basic form of Saffron. This is the process of removing the entire saffron thread from the flower, from the top of the stigma to the bottom of the style, and drying it all together. The style is the ovary’s slender ascending projection that connects the stigma to the flower. The bottom of the design is white, and this is what makes Bunch Saffron so easily identifiable.

This is the most basic form of Saffron. Although it is likely to be the least expensive of all Saffron varieties, the added style implies that you are paying for Saffron that lacks flavor, scent, and health benefits. Bunch Saffron is frequently encountered in spice markets while traveling to India or possibly even Spain. The Bunch Saffron can reach a length of up to 5cm.

Sargol

The Sargol is a tiny, fat region at the very top of the stigma that holds crumbs. This is red and works wonderfully in powdered form. Sargol is most typically used in cooking due to its coloring qualities. It is perfect for everyday use and in restaurants due to the aroma and color it imparts.

Negin Saffron

This is the second most costly Saffron on the market but the most expensive common Saffron. This is because fewer than a handful of Saffron farmers are globally capable of producing Super Negin Saffron.

We did not list Super Negin Saffron as a different type because it is identical to Negin but with the least amount of yellow style conceivable. This is a great labor of love to construct and is often reserved for the most unique fine dining places with a strong emphasis on visual presentation. However, let us return to the original Negin Saffron.

Negin is a Persian term that translates as “rare jewel.” Negin Saffron harvesting takes a higher level of care and attention to detail than any other varieties listed above. With the least amount of yellow styles, you can frequently find several stigmas remaining clinging to one another.

Because Negin Saffron contains the most Saffron available, the aroma and flavor are more powerful, and you receive more Saffron for your buck. Due to the extra care given during the drying process, the stigma of Negin Saffron is typically thicker and longer than that of Sargol and Pushal Saffron.
